About John St.J Blythe
John Blythe is a facial cosmetic surgeon consulting at 25 Harley Street, London. In addition, he has admitting rights at The Weymouth Street Hospital, Marylebone, London. This is a fabulous boutique style independent hospital providing all round excellent care. Aesthetic dentistry and Dental Implantology is performed at Westminster House Dental Clinic just around the corner of the Houses of Parliament and in the King’s Road area at Chelsea Green Dental Clinic.
John was educated at St. Edwards in Oxford before attending Barts and The London Medical and Dental School, University of London to read Dentistry. He graduated from the University of London in 2002 with double distinction and the Gold Medal in Dentistry.
He commenced his dental career in Oxford and has provided over 12 years of part-time NHS and independent dental care.
John returned to Barts and The London to read Medicine in 2004 to pursue his life long ambition to become a face surgeon. He graduated in 2007 with double distinction and achieved the highest score in the final clinical exams.
After completing junior doctor posts in the Oxford Deanery, John commenced specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on the South Coast of England and completed specialist training in 2014.
Alongside his South Coast training he has pursud his interest in Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Facial Deformity, Skin Cancer, Dental Implantology and Cosmetic Dental Surgery by attending courses and conferences across the UK, Europe, United States and Australia.
in 2015 John commenced the European Association of Cranio-maxillofacial Surgeons (EACMFS) Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery with Professor Maurice Mommaerts at the European Face Centre, University Hospital of Brussels, Belgium. During this time he has developed the latest skills in providing facial cosmetic surgery and optimising outcomes for patients with developmental and post-traumatic facial deformity.
In 2016, John has returned back to London, where he has joined a highly respected surgical team as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust. His main interest is cranio-maxillo-facial trauma, facial deformity and reconstruction. The Royal London is one of the major trauma centres of the country receiving extremes of hard and soft tissue trauma. John’s expertise in aesthetic surgery, soft tissue surgery, cranioplasty and orthognathic surgery are key parts of the reconstructive process.
In recognition of John Blythe’s innovative techniques combining non-surgical aesthetics and aesthetic procedures enable patients with significant acquired and developmental facial deformity the ability to achieve their facial potential. This recognition has lead to John becoming the keynote speaker for Allergan Medical International and has lectured to over 2,500 international surgeons and aesthetic practitioners on innovative cosmetic techniques including lipofilling, hyaluronic acid fillers and botulinum A toxin ( Botox) therapy.
In 2017, John achieved an academic milestone by having two chapters published in a surgical edition of Gray’s Anatomy and continues his research interest in relation to cosmetic surgery and facial reanimation treatment.
He works in private clinics in Harley Street, Oxford and The Cotswolds providing a wide range of non-surgical and surgical aesthetic treatments for the face and cosmetic dentistry and implantology.
In 2019 John became a member of the scientific board and co-lead KOL for Prainatti Fanhbley -NGH based in Rome and Zurich. His role for PR-NGH has led to his integral role in the launch of innovative hyaluronic acid products. He is actively contributing to small group live injection workshops, master classes and web-based education.
